2019. That’s so yesterday! Visit Victoria looks ahead to what’s on in 2020 as Melbourne once again delivers a calendar of events unrivalled across the nation.

JANUARY
Australian Open
A jam-packed fortnight of show-stopping tennis, live music, the best food and wine and long days in the sunshine as the world’s best descend on Melbourne Park for the first grand slam of the year.

Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race
The pinnacle of world cycling does battle along the rugged coastline of the Great Ocean Road as thousands flock to the coast to watch UCI World Tour sanctioned racing across four days.

Festival of Sails
Toast Australia Day in the bay surrounding Geelong as sailboats from across the nation come together for the Festival of Sails.

Shrek the Musical

Good Beer Week
Lager, pale ale, stout or sour. There’s something for everyone at Good Beer Week as brewers from across Melbourne, Victoria and the world celebrate all things craft beer.

Rone in Geelong
Over the last two decades, Geelong-born artist Rone has built an exceptional reputation for large-scale wall paintings and immersive installations that explore concepts of beauty and decay. Rone’s latest site-specific installation will transform Geelong Gallery’s rooms in response to the architecture and history of the building, and the Gallery’s collection.

Bledisloe Cup: Australian Wallabies v New Zealand All-Blacks

Australia’s most iconic calendar of horse racing culminates with the Melbourne Cup Carnival, as the Lexus Melbourne Cup stops the nation yet again in 2020.

DECEMBER
Boxing Day Test

The most iconic annual cricket test match, the Melbourne Cricket Ground welcomes this icon of the holiday season annually as festive lunches are forgotten in the grandstand for the Boxing Day Test.
