Sovereign Hill’s new app is golden

/ 02 Nov 2016

Sovereign Hill‘s new Gold Seekers app enables visitors to become immersed in the mid-19th century gold rush, through 40 interactive experiences.

The living museum has installed 40 iBeacons, a proximity-sensing technology, so when a visitor approaches with their smartphone or tablet, the device will shout ‘Eureka!’. The app will then show one or more icons, inviting the user to discover a new tale.

There are three ‘trails’ available to explore through Gold Seekers: Built on Gold is ideal for families, kids and students; Hidden Secrets is designed for those with special needs and New Gold Mountain for Chinese-speakers.

Gold Seeker is free to download through the Apple Store and Google Play and WiFi is available at Sovereign Hill.
