Evita, Arts Centre Melbourne
Set to depart Melbourne on 3 March after an extended run due to continued demand, the original Broadway and West End production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical Evita had its Australian premiere in September last year, directed by legendary Broadway director Hal Prince and starring Tina Arena.

Australian Fashion Summit, Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival
The inaugural Australian Fashion Summit has been created for the industry, by the industry to offer an all-day schedule of business discussions on Friday 8 March, International Women’s Day.
Participants will be empowered to dream, explore innovative thinking, accelerate design abundance, prepare for technology impacts, unpack retail challenges, understand neighbouring trading market opportunities in Asia and take a stand on sustainability practices.
Bank of Melbourne World’s Longest Lunch, Melboune Food & Wine Festival
Karen Martini will lead an all-female chef line up at the Bank of Melbourne World’s Longest Lunch on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Formula 1® Season Launch, Federation Square
To mark the start of the 2019 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, Melbourne will play host to the inaugural season launch event.
Hosted by Formula 1®, Federation Square will come alive with the free extravaganza as all 20 drivers, 10 Team Principals and with legends of the sport participate in the live stage show, bringing the heroes of Formula 1® to the public for the first time in the sport’s history.

Opening Night, Melbourne Queer Film Festival
Film lovers united for the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, with Matt Bomer to star in opening film, Papi Chulo.
Director John Butler (Handsome Devil, MQFF 2016) has created a funny, tender and surprising comedy that brims with compassion and empathy, providing a much-needed anecdote to the division and hate that is so prevalent in the current political landscape.

Mornington Peninsula World’s Longest Lunch, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival

This exhibition highlights major events in British (and world) history from the sixteenth century to the present, examining the ways in which royal portraits were impacted by both the personalities of individual monarchs and wider historical change.

The Krystyna Campbell-Pretty Fashion Gift, National Gallery of Victoria
Featuring designers from Charles Frederick Worth, the celebrated father of haute couture, to the iconoclastic Alexander McQueen, the exhibition includes over 200 garments and archive works from the extensive fashion research collection comprising hundreds of designers’ sketches; workbooks; photographs; and fashion magazines, journals and periodicals from the early nineteenth century onwards.
