Getting crafty at National Gallery of Victoria
The National Gallery of Victoria invites children to be creative in Uneasy Seasons, an installation by Australian artist Fiona Hall, who invites children to create an animal and its habitat in a creative and dynamic space for kids and teenagers. High schoolers aged 13-17 years are invited to an epic night out on Saturday 7th October for NGV Teens Art Party. Teens can visit the glamorous House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture and Hoksai event exclusively after-hours, surrounded by workshops with contemporary artists, dance performances and DJ sets. Eureka Skydeck, the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere, is offering kids free explorer-themed activities these school holidays. Winter isn’t over in Victoria’s Alpine region these school holidays. Thanks to record prolonged snowfall, labelled “Blizzard of Oz 3” Victorian alpine resorts, Mount Buller, Falls Creek, Mount Hotham and Mount Baw Baw have extended their seasons and will remain open these spring holidays. Wilsons Promontory Discovery Program
Families can unearth more of Wilsons Promontory National Park these school holidays with the help of a dedicated Ranger in the Discovery Program. Kids can explore the flora and fauna of the Prom in the Bioquest challenge, meet a modern-day lighthouse keeper and learn the unique history of vast and rugged Gippsland region. Families can hear more about the rich source of food, medicine and materials used by indigenous Australians at the Prom, learn about the underwater world of Tidal River and the importance of safe and sustainable finishing techniques.
